What are some tips for traveling deals online?

I have done it a lot with traveling in the U.S, usually using Expedia, but now i’m looking to travel to Europe and Japan/Asia. Looking for times to go to these places, and good sites, or if i need to bundle or break up hotel/flight. THanks!

What’s your budget? Are you a student or grandparent or..? Are you trying to keep money-spending to a low or do you have a tonne of money to spend on this trip? Expedia actually isn’t very good if you’re looking to get a decent price. You will end up paying a lot of money on something that you can find much cheaper elsewhere.

If you go to Europe, fly to London and get a connecting flight with another airline (recommendations are Easy Jet, Ryan Air and Germany Wings) instead of trying to fly directly from your hometown to the city of choice in Europe. This will save you a bundle.

Check out STA or travelcuts.ca to get some great deals on flights. Don’t book bundles. Again, this will significantly increase your price. Check out Lonely Planet guides to your country/region of choice (any book store will sell them). They have some excellent deals on hotels and hostels. hostelworld.com is also good and if you don’t want to stay in a hostel, they still have hotels and others there for you.

When traveling within the EU, are you not allowed to buy spirits or tobacco at the tax free shopping?

"Tax- and duty-free sales to passengers travelling to EU destinations were abolished on 1 July 1999 as a result of en EU resolution. Passengers to EU destinations are therefore no longer permitted to buy tax- and duty-free liquor and tobacco"

I read this somewhere, and im wondering if it is true?
Im traveling from copenhagen to ireland tomorrow and im planning on buying spirits and tobacco at the duty free shops. According to the above text it is not allowed??! Help!

There is no duty free shopping within the EU, only if you traveol outside the EU. The duty free shops sell goods to you with the local tax.

Do talent agencies provide traveling and lodging cost?

I am from Pittsburgh but I am planning to send my portfolio to some agencies in NY. I am a student so I have financial restraints. Would the agency provide the money for traveling and lodging if we request it?

For example is there a rule that a plane should travel at a certain altitude depending on the distance they are traveling? What would a plane’s altitude be traveling from one part of the UK to another? Or is it up to the Pilot what he/she fly at?

In the USA, NEOdd SWEven — East at odd thousands, West at even thousands; plus 500 feet if VFR and there’s some other rules, but that’s the basic rule.

Picking the altitude is up to the pilot (within the regs) based on winds, fuel load/burn, etc.

Is 25 mph a safe speed when traveling down a hill and turning onto another?

Absolutely not! I would not make such a move in a mini-van unless I was only doing 15 mph. The van is not a performance car & could easily slide or just fall over. Good day!

I have everything but leadership. What could I learn about leadership from traveling to another country?

A leader must be able to interact efficiently with people from other backgrounds and communicate with others.

So focus on how going to China will teach you about leading people with different backgrounds. You may want to mention how you will learn about their cultural leading style (every culture has a unique expectation for their leaders).

I am traveling to AZ for a wedding and I am a bridesmaid. Is there something that is always forgotten for either the wedding day to help the bride get ready or something that is always forgotten when traveling? I leave tomorrow and have not even started packing! Any help would be appreciated!! Thank you

Here is a pretty thorough guide for a wedding day survival kit. Go to the dollar store and you should be able to get most of it for cheap that you don’t already have. And if you packed it in a sectioned off makeup type bag it would be arranged more neatly. The white chalk to hide stains is a great idea! If you read the posts at the bottom, lip balm and snacks are a good idea to bring as well. I also would bring tweezers, who knows if someone might get a splinter or need an eyebrow hair plucked. You can tie off a loose thread with that too, short and nice.

My husband and I are thinking about going to Italy next. Should we just go and do our own think or should we go with a traveling group that takes people to the touristy spots? If you think a group is best, do you know of any companies that do these trips?

Hi, I’m Italian..my English is not very good but I’ll try to answer you anyway…well I would choose a travelling group, because Italy is so full of wonderful places that travelling on your own you could miss the best ones…with a group is all organised and you will able to relax and admire the most beautiful country in the world…moreover italian is really difficult to speak and pronounce for English people and Italians are not good at speaking (here’s an example!!!) other languages so you could find really difficult to communicate…
