When traveling with a horse trailer (with horses) what do you do when a tornadoe strikes?
I will be traveling through texas, oklahoma, kansas to Iowa. I live in california we don’t have tornadeos out there and ever time I’ve run into them at shows back east we have already been at the grounds and safe enough. But I need to know what I should do if I hear tornadoe sirens while i’m on the interstate? Are there underpasses to hide under or what? Thanks to any and all answers ahead of time!
Thanks for your answers everyone!
Good News!!!
Tornado season is in the Spring. Yes, they can come any season, but much, much more likely to have a problem in the spring. Right now there are some rain areas, but no Thunder storms.
If there is hail, that is when you worry, otherwise it is just rain.
I’ve lived in Kansas 47 years, and have never driven in a tornado with a horse trailer, and I trailer alot. Yes, I have pulled over and waited for rain to pass, but that is as bad as it gets.
Just as you worry about tornadoes, we would worry about going out there and getting caught in a wildfire. All it takes is a good head on your shoulders, you won’t have any problems this time of year!!!!
